Living in Each Moment and taking photos of it all
Doh! I missed yesterday’s prompt! It was to describe something that you had been attached to and asked if you still had it.
In my mom’s old peel and stick photo albums with the yellowing pages there are pictures of me sitting on a baby quilt in the midst of some ice plant. We may have been at a park or at the San Diego Zoo but the focus of this is the quilt. It is a patchwork baby sized quilt with orange fabric all the way around the edges. It’s one of those quilts made from the scraps of clothes. It is a quilt that was made for me by my great grandmother!
As a military brat we moved often and lots of stuff did not come with us. But that quilt did. It moved to every house we lived in, it went to college with me, it hung out on our couch after my husband and I got married, and our kiddos have used it as part of a pallet on our hardwood floors.
My baby quilt, made by my great grandma, now resides on a wall hanging next to my husband’s baby quilt that was made by his great grandma!
